Honda Hit Hard by Flooding in Thailand

Months of record flooding has taken a serious toll not only on families living in Thailand but on businesses operating in the Asian country. Take Honda for example. Not only has the Japanese automaker just recently resumed normal production levels in Thailand for the first time since October, they're now in the process of scrapping over one-thousand damaged new Honda Accords and Honda Civics.

What kind of toll will this have on Honda dealerships worldwide? Thankfully, not as large as that taken by this March's devastating earthquake and tsunami. John Mendel, Executive VP, Honda, reports dealers across the globe should all be fully stocked by March 2012- just a few, short months away.

Peters Honda of Nashua would like to note that North American dealers are less impacted by the flooding in Thailand than some, as they do not receive new Honda models from the Thai plant. That said, such drastic inventory loss is certainly a bleak way to wrap up 2011. Happily, the forecast ahead is painted in rosy tones and Peters Honda of Nashua is confident Honda has the wherewithal to pull through with the utmost grace.

Among the other businesses affected by the recent deluge in Thailand are Apple and competing Japanese automaker Toyota (also forced to halt production in October). And, none of this compares to the 700 lives taken by the floods. To all of those families affected, Peters Honda of Nashua sends our deepest condolences and warmest wishes.
