As automakers have been focusing more of their efforts on the development of eco-friendly vehicles, drivers now have a great selection of electric and hybrid models to choose from. Honda has joined this movement to produce the popular Honda Fit EV, which recently received some well-deserved recognition on KBB.com's '10 Best Green Car's' list for 2013.

As we anxiously wait for the debut of the next generation of the Honda Fit, we have some details about its enhancements to hold us over until the release in the United States. The model will become available in Japan later this year, this time with an innovative safety feature that we are excited to see in other new Honda models.

In addition to the growing popularity of electric and hybrid vehicles in the new Honda lineup, there is a growing demand for diesel-powered options. For now the automaker is introducing a diesel option to its lineup in India, an addition that is expected to be quite a hit.
